This Privacy Policy explains who operates PitcherStat, what information may be received when you use pitcherstat.com, why it is processed, and how to contact us. It is written to match the technologies actually running on the public site.
WHO WE ARE
PitcherStat is an independent baseball analytics website operated at pitcherstat.com. This policy applies to the public website. It does not cover Major League Baseball, clubs or other third-party sites you may reach from our pages.
INFORMATION COLLECTED
When you visit the site, our hosting and security infrastructure may automatically receive limited technical information: IP address, browser and device type, referring URL, pages requested, date and time, and basic performance or error logs. If you email us, we receive the address and the content you send. PitcherStat does not require an account to use public pages and does not ask visitors to create a public user profile.
HOW WE USE IT
We use this information to operate and secure the site, diagnose faults, remember your cookie-notice choice, measure how pages are used so we can improve them, respond to messages you send, and support advertising that keeps the site free to read. PitcherStat itself does not build marketing profiles about you, and editorial rankings are never influenced by advertising.
COOKIES
PitcherStat uses first-party storage where needed and works with Google’s certified consent platform in the EEA, UK and Switzerland so analytics and advertising tags follow your choices. ANALYTICS
The public site loads Google Analytics 4 and Plausible Analytics to measure traffic, page popularity and site performance. Google Analytics receives your IP address, device and browser details, referring page and the pages you view, and sets cookies in the _ga family to recognise repeat visits; Google processes that data under its own terms and we do not receive your name or contact details from it. Plausible is a privacy-focused counter that reports aggregate page views. We use both only to understand which pages are worth improving.
ADVERTISING
PitcherStat is funded by advertising. Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure advertisements on this site, including advertisements based on your prior visits to pitcherstat.com or other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at google.com/settings/ads, and out of many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu. Where advertising appears, it is labelled and kept separate from editorial content and from PitcherStat metrics.
THIRD PARTIES
Besides the measurement and advertising partners above, hosting, content-delivery and security providers that keep the site online may process the technical information described above as our processors. They receive only what is needed to deliver the site. Links to Major League Baseball, clubs and other outside sites are governed by those sites' own policies.
SHARING AND SALE
PitcherStat does not sell personal information for money. Where advertising or measurement partners process data for their own purposes, some privacy laws treat that as sharing for targeted advertising; you can limit it with the opt-out links above and with your browser or device settings. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect the site, or to a successor if the service is transferred.
RETENTION AND RIGHTS
Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle the request. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask that we delete information you sent us. Send those requests to [email protected] and include enough detail to locate the record. We may need to retain information when the law requires it.
CHILDREN
PitcherStat is a baseball reference site. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
